"Sanjay Gupta is lying" says Michael Moore!
On Larry King now! King keeps cutting Moore off and trying to change the subject after Gupta makes his statements! This should be an interesting show for a change!

37. I remember when Larry King hosted a presidential debate
& pretty much sneered at Kucinich, calling him a "socialist". Larry undoubtedly loathes the idea of "socialized" medicine. I was very frustrated with his uneven interview with MM.

see a thread recounting this, especially since King is such a piss poor moderator. MKJ

8. Does anyone know if Dr. Gupta has EVER mentioned FACTS
that deal with the following, has he ever once mentioned that dietary supplements can have a protective effect against illness or even a treatment in many cases?? I have never heard him say so, and for that he should apologize.

Experimental studies in animals have shown that diets lacking omega 3 PUFA lead to substantial disturbances in neural function, which in most circumstances can be restored by the inclusion of omega 3 PUFA in the diet. In the past 10 years there has been an emerging interest in treating neuropsychological disorders (depression and schizophrenia) with omega 3 PUFA. This paper discusses the clinical studies conducted in the area of depression and omega 3 PUFA and the possible mechanisms of action of these PUFA. It is clear from the literature that DHA is involved in a variety of processes in neural cells and that its role is far more complex than simply influencing cell membrane properties.

25. Poly unsaturated fatty acid. They are pretty much what your
brain runs on and quite often in America we don't get a whole lot of them... AND if you have a genetic flaw that limits your ability to convert short chain fatty acids into long chain fatty acids.... well then, Katie bar the door.

EVIDENCE: Published literature and data presented at scientific meetings were reviewed. Specific disorders reviewed included major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, borderline personality disorder and impulsivity, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Meta-analyses were conducted in major depressive and bipolar disorders and schizophrenia, as sufficient data were available to conduct such analyses in these areas of interest. CONSENSUS PROCESS: The subcommittee prepared the manuscript, which was reviewed and approved by the following APA committees: the Committee on Research on Psychiatric Treatments, the Council on Research, and the Joint Reference Committee. CONCLUSIONS: The preponderance of epidemiologic and tissue compositional studies supports a protective effect of omega-3 EFA intake, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), in mood disorders.

13. "Okay guys, keep your answers short."
Then he lets Gupta go on and on and on and on, making several accusations on two totally different points.

Then to Moore: "Well? GO AHEAD!!!"

:eyes:

He had to be thinking, where to start? Or, what was the first accusation again?

Because if he was just a "doctor" he wouldn't be trying so hard to muddle the facts. It's pointless, UNLESS he's being paid by people who stand to lose profits when Mike speaks the truth.

Note the commercials for pills, treatments, pills, pills, aspirin and pills.

AOL/TimeWarner's sponsors, too.

27. I love how once they realized that Michael Moore could back up his stats,
Larry then asks if Moore wasn't perhaps "overreacting" to Gupta's piece.

Nice try, Larry. But Gupta claimed Moore was "fudging" his facts. Fudge is defined as "to fake or falsify." Sorry Larry, but Moore had credible, CURRENT sources for his facts, and to imply that he faked them is insulting.

correcting Gupta? They didn't even mention it! That was nothing but another hit piece on Moore. THEN, did you notice the 2 "Medical" commercials that ran during that segment with Gupta, the liar and Moore? The AMA and a Cialis commercial that runs every 10 freakin' minutes on CNN ran during that show.:grr: My G-d that was an awful display of bias on Larry King's part.:grr:
