It sucks to be a hypocrite |
|
The school I was working at a few years ago had an abstinence only sex education/drug education program. Since we didn't have daily homeroom periods this was done once a month out of a class period. One of the lessons was on abstinence until marriage. As a single male approaching 40 lets just say I wasn't the best avitar of that particular ideal. I surely didn't enjoy teaching that day. So I have some idea of what Vitter must be going through. But I don't fell sorry for him at all. He brought this on himself.
No one told him to make opposing same-sex marriage and adultery while being a whore monger. No one told him to have his wife tell us that Democrats are destroying our values. He did this himself.
Honestly I think prostitution should be legal. If two conscenting adults wish to exchange money for sex as opposed to exchanging food or jewels for sex why not? But Vitter shows no sign of believing that the standard for government involvement should be if the adults are conscenting. He thinks when it comes to marriage that his religious beliefs should be what we care about. His religious beliefs aren't too keen on adultery or prostituion. They actually have more to say on those than on homosexuality.
I only ask for Vitter that he get treated as he would treat me. He won't extend employment protection to me so why should he have it? Let him be fired for his sexuality just like I can be fired for mine.
