Today's encounter with Fayetteville's Conduit to Jee-zus
I think I've told you about James Lancaster, Fayetteville's Best Christian.

Today he was passing out tracts at the gas station I went to.

He approached me with this tract that had the word Hell printed on the front in really big, really red letters. I asked him, "Are you James Lancaster?" His face lit up. 'Yes I am!' I told him he probably didn't want to talk to me. "And why's that?" So I told him:

* there's no heaven
* there's no hell
* there's more in the Bible than just smiting and damnation
* faith without works is dead, and passing out hellfire tracts doesn't count as works
* my name's Jim Mowreader
* I've still got the two letters he sent me, and I'm still trying to decipher his handwriting
* George W. Bush is not a good man, he's the Horseman of Famine
* and if I don't go now, I'm going to be late to work so you have a nice day

I think his jaw dislocated.

1. Go read Luke 6:30 and have fun with it
You will see him do more than just dislocate his jaw.

I'm such a fan of his insane letters to the editor! Not.

How did you know what he looks like?

6. Informed speculation, Hissyspit...
I knew he was about two thousand years old and is really big on the Bible.

So obviously, when the Two Thousand Year Old Man comes up to you with a big stack of tracts that make Chick's most fire & brimstone efforts look lame...well, it's probably James Lancaster.

Oh yeah...there's an All New Chick Tract out, and it sucks really bad:

Guilty!

About the only thing it's guilty of is being a really sorry-ass tract. Even Chick fans won't buy this one.

5. You were too kind to him....
being an atheist I would have tore him a new asshole. :evilgrin: I think all of the local evangelists (Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses etc.) have put a "secret mark" (supposedly like the hobos did during the depression) outside my house. They never bother me anymore. :) I know more about their bible and religion then they do and that's a powerful tool in combating their superstitious mumbo-jumbo.

I used to ignore them, politely tell them "no thanks", and walk away but they when "christians" started to get more belligerent and "in your face".......so did I. :)

You were right to do what you did. If more people stood up to their superstitious, mythical claptrap the world would be a far better place. Imagine....no George Bush as President. As Bob Boudelang used to say, "arrest my case". ;)

8. ".......so did I."
Glad to hear that.
It's time to end the turn the other cheek bullshit.
After all it is a christian idealology.They sure as hell don't follow it so why should we.
