alerts that were issued, for instance, during the period from March 2004 to the '04 election. I'm not just talking about "Watch out". I'm talking about John Ashcroft saying "There is a 90% Certainty of an attack before the election".

Sorry, they were bullshit. And you will NEVER convince me that they weren't deliberate political stunts to "prime the terror pump". The fact that, yes, on a planet with 10 Billion people there ARE terrorist attacks from time to time does NOT mean that this Administration hasn't been using phony terror "threats" to work people up. They finally eased up on it, not because we're magically safer, but because too many people were seeing it for the cheap show that it was.

Then yes. By specific, I mean that there is information about time, place, type of attack, etc.

7. I don't believe any "alerts" unless I see and hear the threat for myself.

I don't even trust the weatherman. I look to the barometer and weather data coming from remote sensors to make my own determinations... which means I do, at least, trust the data sources of the NOAA, SARSAT, GOES, NCDC, DMSP, NODC, OSCAR et al.

If I had direct access to Interpol data, etc., then I might be able to determine if there is a real threat.

I want to know. We have made enemies of a boat load of people. I fully expect an attack. I also fully expect we won't see it coming. I don't have any confidence in their ability to ferret out the info if one was being planned. I also expect them to continue to use the terra card as often as they can get away with it.

I am more terrified of peak oil, global warming, US economic collapse - that sort of thing, than I am about mad bombers.
I like to read all the 'threat' warnings related to the demise of the empire and try to figure out how accurate they are,
how soon the empire will implode, and what it may look like in the immediate aftermath of collapse.

I'm 90% certain I'm still going to be totally unprepared (except mentally/emotionally) when it does collapse.
