After he lost the primary, for the next 3 months, he claimed, "Nobody wants to end the war more than me!" His focus before the primary was that he had delivered for Connecticut, so please let him ride on Iraq because it's only one issue out of many.

Unfortunately, after the media was pretty friendly to Lamont before the primary, they rolled over for Lieberman after that and didn't challenge many of his lies until it was too late.
