RE: This Whole Michael Moore/ CNN/ Gupta/ Blitzer/ Phillips Debacle |
|
Having read all of the messages in the various discussion threads here on DU - and heartily agreeing with most every one of them - I still have to pose this question: WHO in the HELL even WATCHES CNN?
The right wingers include CNN in their long list of "liberal" news outlets; I just overheard Rush Limbaugh say that any changes to the Fairness Doctrine should apply to CNN and their liberal controllers. (!)
But the rest of us...the ones of us with any sense...KNOW CNN to be a Bush administration cheerleader, a war propaganda machine, and a shameless shill for corporate interests.
Then again...if Limbaugh was to admit that the so-called "drive-by media" was in fact more conservative than progressive...he would lose his straw man. And without a straw man, Limbaugh, Hannity and all the other bloviards would lose every ounce of faux integrity they claim to have.
Oops...did I just answer my own question?

1. I kinda think that if their ratings soar when |
|
they have MM or other good people like Dean, they might learn a lesson about viewership& have better interviews, Or, I could be wrong. We watched Larry King last night for the full MM half hour, cause we missed the other scumbag. He was very, very good.

2. Well, ignoring the Kerry Swiftboating on CNN and MSNBC |
|
didn't help much.
I say fight back loudly and heartily.

3. Kind of reminds me of the manufactured controversy |
|
between Ann Coultergeist and Elizabeth Edwards. Trumpeting their own shows and hyping ratings is all the MSM (including MSNBC) are interested in. The truth, sadly, is often left in the dust.

4. But is CNN not smart enough to realize that if they just reported the truth |
|
they could possibly get more viewers instead of shrinking their audience to oblivion? It seems to me that when they were cheerleading the boy king & his neocons the entire first 4 years, they spoiled the sheeple. Then, when CNN finally had its Colonel Nicholson's "What have I done?" epiphany & began to somewhat call out the boy king's cabal, the sheeple had nowhere to go in the way of defending their egos but to call them "liberal".
They depend on the Limpballs & the Spinnitys to tell them what to think because they aren't smart enough to think for themselves.

9. re:"WHO in the HELL even WATCHES CNN?". Serious watchers certainly |
|
are not well informed. It is dumbed down "News" for the entertainment oriented 'murcans. But when I am traveling and motel breakfast areas have it or Fox "News" on, I sometimes look at the people who watch it intently - I am convinced it (CNN, Fox,etc)is seen by many as junk.
