Another Pet Food recall! Just when I thought this was over!
SALMONELLA FOUND IN AMERICAN BULLIE PET PRODUCTS

Please forward this information to family and
friends that have pets. This can be passed on
to humans as well.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today
warned consumers not to use American Bullie
A.B. Bull Pizzle Puppy Chews and Dog Chews
manufactured and distributed by T.W. Enterprises,
Ferndale, WA, because they have the potential to
be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause
serious infections in dogs and cats, and, if
there is cross contamination, in people,
especially children, the aged, and people with
compromised immune systems. Consumers who have
the pet treats manufactured or distributed by
T.W. Enterprises listed below should not feed
them to their pets, but instead dispose of them
in a safe manner.

American Bullie Small Chew, small, 3-4 inch
A.B. Puppy Chew, 4-6 inch
A.B. Dog Chew Medium, 6 inch
A.B. Dog Chew Large, 10 inch
A.B. Dog Chew XL, 13 inch
A.B. Dog Chew Mega, 16 inch
A.B. Dog Chew Jumbo, 26 inch

2. This happens every once in a while
usually in pig's ears or snouts. These are the garbage of the slaughterhouse industry and are not treated carefully to prevent contamination. While the animal parts that will be sold to people are refrigerated and handled relatively carefully, these are handled like the refuse the industry thinks they are.

And then they're sold to you, to give to your beloved pet.

The meat industry is evil from top to bottom.

8. Unfortunately, many already have been, recalled to another life!
I know many people don't feel as strongly as I do about this pet food problem, but you really should look at it as a sounding alarm to the contamination of human foods! Remember, the first major problems we heard about regarding toxic ingredients from China we those found in pet food. The problem soon escalated to human consumables like toothpaste.

Take a look at the FDA recalls sometime. They release a list once a week from what I can tell. We don't hear about MOST of these. I just looked at the last 2 posted on their web site, and the ONLY one I heard about was the toothpaste!

It looks like the FDA is working hard, but they just don't have enough people to do a GOOD JOB!

12. Wow. I just found out what they are. I had no idea.
My dog has never had one, and now I can say for sure she never will. At least as disgusting as pig snouts.

9. What does that mean?
"they have the potential to
be contaminated with Salmonella"

Well, yes, I understand that almost any food source has the potential to be contaminated with many dangerous organisms if it isn't handled properly.

Is this a political hit against a company for some unknown reason? Or has ACTUAL contamination been found?

In April, Itchmo posted about a FDA salmonella contamination alert in American Bullie Dog Chew products.

In a follow-up to their salmonella contamination, a FDA warning letter dated June 11, 2007 was sent to T.W. Enterprises, the company that makes American Bullie Dog Chew products. The letter referenced the FDA inspections that were conducted on January 18 and 23.

During these inspections, the FDA not only found salmonella in the products, but they noted that the company had other violations. The company was found to be dipping their products in bleach...
