For the record: Federal Civil Servant Oath of Office

I, , do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

I don't know about you, but I'm not seeing an oath to the President within those 74 words. Anyone?

That's the oath that the Federal Civil Servants take.

But I guess Bush must have added a signing statement for those who work in the WH!;)

7. Does he have all his political appointees,incl supreme Court Justices, swear a seperate oath to him?

It might be the real meaning behind the mantra that the Bush family concern for loyalty we all hear about.
