Regarding Hookergate
It seems that there is no well-organized, coordinated effort to dig out the info on those phone numbers. I've been to a number of places where piecemeal research is being posted. I've been to the CLG site, and links stemming from there.

But where is *the* coordinated effort? It's all so ad hoc. Maybe that's just how it is for now, and maybe Flynt has the big guns anyway. Just seems more eyes and brains could be put to good use if it were organized.

Is there something out there I haven't seen yet?

2. Yeah, I saw their site
but there doesn't seem to be a way to participate -- that is, to not duplicate what others are already working on.

3. Larry Flynt's office
why, do you think the Dems in Congress should be doing this? It's up the the vast nitpicking research power of the netroots, sweetie. Shoeleather and finger calluses.

5. Please don't call it that
I'm tired of the 'gate' suffix on everything, especially for something relatively minor like this.

6. Let me clarify what I meant
(and sorry for using the "*gate" terminology)

The first obvious step is to import these image files into a database via an OCR program. I'm sure that it's either already been done, or is in the process, or something. Once it's in that state, it's much easier to delegate portions of.

Each zipped file contains up to 100 pages of data.

I know of one DUer who posted a link to a searchable PDF. And I've seen a website with a searchable database. So I know there are efforts.

It just doesn't seem coordinated in any way.

Maybe I'm missing something (and thus, this thread)

9. Here's an idea on one approach
http://www.hotpotatomash.com/2007/07/dc-madam-phone-.html

At least this way, you know which numbers to not bother researching.

Where's the database? I know there must be one out there! Please don't make me make my own, I know I can, but I also know it's likely already been done.
