Soldiers get desensitized to death PDQ in a warzone... Just Fleet Street trying to sell papers!
on edit: There are some very telling tales of PTSD in that article. I know we are seeing MANY more young troops at the VA here in Minneapolis. It's terrible... I've met 3 folks with IED injuries in the past few weeks. A 26 year old Marine with shrapnel in his chest, his gyrine haircut hasn't even grown out yet... A 22 year old woman missing half a foot, lost it in a Hummer/IED attack. The COST of this invasion over the next 20-30 years in VA health care alone will be TRILLIONS!

3. Some may have been out of context |

then again it may not have been, it may just be how some of our guys think and act just because you put on the uniform doesn't make you saint. Somebody at the Hague or International criminal court should be able to use these confessions to bring War Crimes against the leaders of this unholy, immoral criminal war. As far as I'm concern the people that started this war are criminals as well as the people that fight in it.
All of the soldiers statements were disgusting but the the one below just happen to stand out the most. I can imagine what they think about minorities in this country.
"A lot of guys really supported that whole concept that if they don't speak English and they have darker skin, they're not as human as us, so we can do what we want."
Specialist Josh Middleton, 23, of New York City, 2nd Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division. Four-month tour in Baghdad and Mosul beginning December 2004

Is it combat stress, or is it out of context?

MY nephew the new marine (moron) could not wait to go to Iraq to "kill the terrorists that got us on 9/11". Those are the people we are sending to kill innocents. He wanted to KILL before he went. Great 'freedoms' for us , eh?

there are some scary guys going into our military. I've heard nearly this exact phrase uttered by several soldiers on several occasions. "Towel heads, Habibs, or Sand Niggers" are more widely used terms though.

he has not even gone yet and he talks like a fucking serial killer! I won't let my boys near him. It was a real eye opener for me as to what they "teach" in basic, as he had never talked or acted this way before he was recruited. Scary shit to think of all of the trained killers we will have back here some day. :(
