WASHINGTON (AP) - The government has concluded that al-Qaida has rebuilt its operating capability to a level not seen since the summer of 2001, The Associated Press has learned.

A new threat assessment suggests the group that launched the most devastating terrorist attack on the United States has been able to rebuild despite nearly six years of bombings, war and other tactics aimed at crippling it.

According to KO Show today, the numbers are as great or greater than pre 9/11.

continuing the fight in Iraq was supposed to draw in al Qaeda so that terrorists could be defeated over there, before they could do any further damage in the US. As it has played out, the war in Iraq has served as a great recruitment effort for al Qaeda, strengthening their ranks, while our attention has been drawn away from what has been going on in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Now, right before 2008, they may be planning on another attack, perhaps this time using a nuke, which will anger US enough to continue PNAC's warmongering- this time in a nuclear attack on Iran.
