Big day in Congress today.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is hearing testimony from Bush's former political director Sara M. Taylor, who has obeyed his instructions and declined to answer Congress' questions Wednesday about her role in the firings of federal prosecutors.

"It is apparent that this White House is contemptuous of the Congress and feels that it does not have to explain itself to anybody," Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, said as he opened the hearing. Leahy then asked Taylor repeatedly whether she had met with or talked to Bush about the replacement of U.S. attorneys. Taylor repeatedly refused to answer, citing Bush's instructions.

Wow - she's a priivate citizen and still feels compelled to abide by the whims of the titular head of the Bush Crime Family? What kind of "Executive Privilege" is Chucklenutz implementing?

Meanwhile, the Senate is voting today on two key issues that impact our troops in the neverending terror wars: the Webb amendment, whicl would implement a schedule for time required between deployments for our troops overseas. And Sen. Olympia Snowe on Wednesday became the second Republican to embrace a bill ordering troops out of Iraq, joining Sen. Gordon Smith, R-Ore. in co-sponsoring a bill that would require troops to start leaving in 120 days. The bill also would end combat by April 30, 2008.

At least 10 Republicans in recent weeks have said the U.S. should start reducing the military's role in Iraq, with the latest challenge to the president's Iraq strategy coming Tuesday from Sen. Elizabeth Dole.

The Bush Crime Family dispatched National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley to Congress to stop the hemorrhage and strong-arm remaining Republicans to defeat the bill. I guess Tony Snow was too weak for this wet work today.

Thanks for your patience, Truthseekers; and, now, the Maat Family cats! Hubby-Webmaster has been working with me, and I think that I learned just a bit more about posting.

This is Dexter “Sly”! Dexter (10 weeks) is the one wild Mama Cat deposited in our backyard. Actually, she and the five kittens showed up. Whenever my daughter would walk by, Dexter would “meow,” and try to follow her. One day, my neighbor (who brought Mama Cat here and let her go – but that’s another fiasco-story) just grabbed Dexter and gave him to us.

Dexter did not get the memo/email about being wild. He just walked in and acted like he owned the place. He found the kitty boxes and the food bowls first thing, and, by the end of the night, was resting on Hubby’s lap watching martial arts with him. Five weeks later, he still owns the place, and still watches martial arts every night with Papa (my daughter’s decided she’s “Mom;” I’m “Nana”). Whatever – this household is really getting to be a three-ring circus!

This is Snowball (aka “Snow”)(5 yrs.). When you think of Snow, think of “Patrick” on SpongeBob Squarepants. Snow is a very macho male (NOT!); every day is a new day for Snow, with new friends to make & a new house to explore (HeeHee – not quite that bad, but let’s just say he’s not a candidate for advanced kitty university). He’s a happy-go-lucky, cuddly dude who wanders around with a blank expression on his face – but he’s happy.



This is Dot (6). She’s a moody kitty, but very motherly. She just rolls her eyes when I bring a new one in. She’s been saddled with 3 kittens at various times now, and she just rolls with the punches.

Dot is an ocicat, and she's very motherly. On the other hand, she might think about giving you a nuzzle, or giving you a nip. When she was very young, she thought about nipping at Beloved Daughter. I kind of tapped her on the nose, and said, "We always respect the Baby." From then on (it's been years), neither I nor my hubby have been allowed to even raise our voice to our own daughter. She jumps between me and the Baby (now 10-1/2 yrs.) and gives me a warning 'meow.' It's really funny.

They are each purebreds (Dot-Ocicat, Snow-Persian, Coco-Bengal), with the exception of Dexter (whose parentage is totally unknown - HeeHee).
