Now I don't want to get off on a rant here, but I'm trying really hard not to blow my stack over this story. As a Republican, this is obviously a tough story to swallow.

It seems Bob got himself into a sticky situation from which he probably didn't know the in's and out's as well as he should. Apparently, he was looking for a White Christmas in July but the temperature in that bathroom was just way too steamy.

Fortunately, there are lawyers out there who can pull themselves away from working rear-end collisions and instead jerk a few dollars out of Bob and make reasonable doubt. They will be his new best friends, since there can't be many lobbysists out there busting a nut to stroke him anymore.

As for his political career, it's safe to say it's been sucked drier than the tap at Clyde's on sine die. And for those of you unfamiliar with Tallahasee, Clyde isn't the name of the undercover officer.

It really is a shame though. His career had just about reached its climax as a term-limited legislator, when he suddenly had the right to remain silent today. He just didn't have the ability. It's tough to envision a way for him to erect a political comeback from this.

To Sen-elect Thad Altman: try not to go for the throat - the damage is done - and like his counterpart Vito from Sopranos, Bob has indeed been whacked. Remember, it's all about technique, Thad. You have it, and Bob didn't.

As for Bob, there's always the Log Cabin Republicans...
