Talking point re: Iraq, Afghanistan, the UK, EU the US and domestic security memes.

We here in the US have lost 4,000 Americans in the Middle East. We spend 12 Billion dollars a month on the war and the occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both of these are made on the premise that it is necessary to keep us safe.

Meanwhile, the UK and EU have lost proportionally less of their youth and their purse while remaining relatively safe. And they remain at more risk to terrorism than the US.

What gives?

I suggest they realize, better than we, that it *is* a law enforcement issue, not a military issue. And the 'fight them there so we don't have to fight them here' is a straw man. Minimizing the risk for terrorism here lies with law enforcement. And the UK and EU do a better job at law enforcement.
