Report: US Cuts Power to Baghdad District

http://www.iraqslogger.com/index.php/post/3541/Report_US_Cuts_Power_to_Baghdad_District

In an apparent bid to apply pressure on Mahdi Army fighters, US forces have completely cut off electricity to the Baghdad district of Kadhimiya, al-Melaf reports in Arabic on Wednesday.

The measures are an attempt to pressure the residents of the district to expel members of the Mahdi Army in Kadhimiya and to turn them over to US forces, al-Melaf writes.

Kadhimiya is one of the few majority Shi'a areas in Baghdad west of the Tigris River, and is the home of an important Shi'a shrine, the Imam Musa al-Kadhim mosque, named for the seventh Shi'a imam.

1. That should work about as well as everything else that's been done.
Pissing off the locals even more when they're already pissed to the max is brilliant strategy. It worked so well for the Germans and the Soviets too.

8. Another war crime. Some day these men will face the gallows for what they are doing.
Every day there is one more day of mass murder, slaughter, starvation, and deliberate targetting of the people of Iraq in pursuit of a hopeless goal of stealing that countries resources, its oil and strategic location, an unjust and unprovoked war of aggression and conquest.

Which members of the ruling class and their military hierarchy should be exempt from trial for war crimes? Any?

On the other hand, the other objective, impoverishing the American people, destroying the commons, and thus enriching and empowering Corporations - Corporatism - is going rather well.
