Can anyone help me with the logic, please? I am a pretty logical guy - but... |
|
We have CNN, NBC, etc playing all terra, all the time. We have skeleton man saying that he has this gut feeling (does a skeleton have a gut?) that terra is coming to somewhere near "you".
Logic breakpoint #1 - what the hell are we supposed to do with this information? And let me preface this by saying that none of this makes me afraid - indeed, I have zero confidence in anything that originates in the misadministration. Folks, the ONLY reason for this sort of thing is to keep fear in the headlines, and, for some twisted reason, this should make us all realize that it is the republiks who will keep us safe. As an addendum to this thought, the only reason MSM is pushing the terra crap nonstop is that they MUST be in the pockets of the republiks.
Which takes me to logic breakpoint #2 - 911 happened on Bushwatch. Iraq creates more chaos and is a far better recruiting ad for "their side" than any of a zillion annoying join the army ads or brownshirt recruitment going on over here. We are fighting them there so that they don't come here - yet, we have the skeleton gut feeling that they are coming here. So, the misadministration and republiks have no footing whatsoever on anything that they are claiming.
Which takes me to the final logic breakpoint - with all of this incredibly great material, why are we continuing to keep our powder dry? If the shoe was on the other foot the knives would be out a zillion times over. The approach would be cutthroat and brutal. We have an idiot in the white house who fails at everything, is committing crimes and obstruction in the bright light of day, surrounds himself with criminals and incompetents, and his every act takes us further from what they pretend to promise.
What am I missing?

Don't ask questions. Ignore the man behind the curtain. We are at war with Eurasia. We have ALWAYS been at war with Eurasia.
Worship Emperor Chucklenuts, just like they tell you to. Spend money you don't have, just like they tell you to. And most of all: Be afraid, Be afraid, Be afraid.
Just like they tell you to.

3. # 1 is correct! Gotta keep that terra in the headlines! #2 Nobody |
|
thinks about. #3 I suspect the Dems are too afraid to fight back hard because IF another attack does happen here, they aren't willing to take the hit! I think there is a bit of possible truth to their position. What if the LW conspiracy folks are right and this Admin. did have a hand in 9/11? If it's true, they could easily do it again!
Think about that.

6. And it's all because the Iraqis aren't standing up like they promised. |
|
It's the Iraqis' fault that we have to fight al Qaeda here instead of there. They were supposed to protect us ... even though our military costs us more than the entire rest of the world spends on their military.
It's the best terror money can buy.

just like 911 - sorry to all of you who believe the conspiracy theory of 19 saudis hijacking 4 planes and flying around in US airspace unchallenged for a couple of hours, building falling down that hadn`t been damaged etc etc, however a number of things are eerily similar -
1) Bush is tanking in the polls (just like pre- 911) 2) The eyes of the country are muttering about illegality of the administration, just like pre 911 (anyone say 3 trillion dollars missing from the Pentagon, as announced by Rumsfeld in the afternoon of 9/10/2001) 3) The need an excuse to declare war on Iran (just like they needed an excuse to declare war on Iraq)
I would be very afraid if I was all of you. Prick Santorum has just announced that a series of "unfortunate events" WILL occur between August and November (wonder why the FBI aren`t interviewing him). Now Skeletor announces the same.
Don`t forget, Bush now has the power to suspend the constitution and declare Martial Law after "any calamity or terrorist attack", without approval of congress.
What you are supposed to do with this information is get on the phone and bring immediate criminal charges against Cheney and Bush or IT WILL BE TOO LATE.
Peace

They are planning something so that Bush's poll numbers rise, or distraction from legal problems. Also, he can easily declare martial law.

8. The best explanation I've seen of this is that "infotainment" loves the |
|
good vs. bad narrative form. They want desperately to "tell a story." They also want to keep the pipelines to the newsmakers (read BushCo.) open.
So they spin it the way BushCo wants it spun. It's just easier for everyone in the industry that way.

14. The logical response is: I have a gut feeling Michael Chertoff is a terrorist. |
|
And, no, I don't have evidence to support it -- but sometimes you just have to trust your feelings, and I really feel we should lock up Chertoff in Gitmo

15. You are supposed to be frightened and consume to quell the fear |
|
Fear is a primary motivating emotion. It makes us want to do something. Unqualified fear causes us to become anxious. We look for anything to quell the fear. And thats when they sell you something. They sell you security. They sell you sex. They sell you death. Its basic marketing.

16. Here's what you're "missing"... |
|
- Chertoff is a schill for the warmongering PNACers in power.
- He does what he's told.
- It's going to take an even more horrific "911 style national emergency" to get Americans so scared again that "we the people" return to the bunker mentality that the NeoCon "leadership" desperately needs us to needs to stay in.
- Given that the in power PNAC NeoCons have lost the house & Senate -- It's no longer advantageous for this admin to point out that we haven't been attacked on their watch.
- Chertoff is saying, "Everyone be alerted that the next salvo against our Constitution will likely come before the '08 election!"
I could be wrong on a few accounts though (& I'd like to be). Maybe Chertoff is unofficially breaking ranks with Cheney/Bush (he didn't consult the WH before making his comments). Maybe he's washing his hands of what he knows is about to come down the pike.

Maybe it is just a "gut felling" and he is trying to be honest? After the foiled attacks in England and the accomplished (but ineffective) attack in Glasgow, and many attacks in Thailand, Phillipines, and Indonesia that Chertoff is apprehensive about Al Qaeda planning for attacks in the US? Especially after we have interdicted several planned attacks in the US (New Jersy just being the most recent and with a plan to blow up 10 airliners foiled at the 11th hour). After Zawahiri has been saying every three months or so for four years that an attack on the US is "imminent" and with a resurgent Al Qaeda, and intel chatter on terrorist communication lines that Chertoff is nervous? We don't have Homeland security in every mall in the nation, nor a good system to protect every state house or capital building from a major truck bomb. Chertoff knows we could be attacked. His approach is to be pro-active, solicit public support in being vigilant, and warning local communities to update emergency plans. While the Bush Administration may not be the most effective, it seems, in this case. that Homeland Security is "trying to do the right thing."

19. * admin is in big trouble legally. They've tried executive priviledge |
|
and denying wrong doing. now they move on to step (c) which is "terra, terra, terra"
I posted this somewhere the other day. It always follows the same pattern (a) deny any wrong doing (b) invoke executive priviledge (c) release info on new terra threat
Every time Chimpy's number have dropped. Every time there has been an investigation of wrong doing, they try to divert everyone's attention through fear.
Terrorism is nothing more than using fear as a tactic of war. This administration has been doing that for six years. This isn't a war ON terrorism it is a war OF terrorism on the American people.
