“ I wish to be the President of the United States.”

The young commander-in-chief addresses cheering constituents at one of 12 government agencies he visited during his term.

His time in office was only one day, but there’s one thing everyone will remember about the administration of wish kid-turned-president Sterling: He lived up to his name.

“It is only in America that a little boy from Mesquite, Texas, can wish of someday being President of the United States and actually have that wish come true,” Sterling said after being inaugurated as President of the United States for a day.

To make 12-year-old Sterling’s presidential dreams come true, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic enlisted more than a dozen government agencies, and each gave the young commander-in-chief a hero’s welcome and an important role to play.

First, President Sterling, who was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma, appointed members of his family to his cabinet and enjoyed a regal breakfast and briefing at the Willard Inter-Continental Hotel. From there, he was off to Fort Myer, where the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division Band greeted him with “Hail to the Chief.” Sterling presented the division’s soldiers with ceremonial gifts - red pencils printed with “President Sterling Watson.”

President Sterling’s other daily duties included a visit to the U.S. Postal Service, where the postmaster general introduced him to speak before a cheering crowd of 300 USPS employees, and a briefing at the Department of Health and Human Services. Sterling also visited 150 employees at U.S. Customs and Border Protection and held a press conference to name one of the agency’s new canines. He chose the name Yeller.

President Sterling enters his motorcade where he caught a quick nap between speeches.

6. My nephew survived stage four cancer when he was just four years old.
He's never been the same. He had the cancer in his brain, and through his entire body. His wish was a trip to disney land. I f*cking hate the fact that kids get cancer. It's so wrong.

Sorry.

That said, he lived and while he's mentally impaired, he's happy and alive almost 20 years later.

11. His face and dream drew me to posting this story
We can do a hell of a lot better than what we got right now.

Health care, stem cell research, scientific research, education, and other needs of our
society are expressed in this little guys face and not this fucking wasteful war.
