A "diagnosis" a la Frist:
Scarborough is clearly manic. whether he's also a Depressive (bipolar) or not remains to be seen, but clinically, people are much more dangerous to themselves and others when they're manic. They can empty their bank accounts, have affairs (with or without diapers), alienate lifelong friends.

Joe is alternating between screaming during Mika's news and making salacious remarks on certain days with a definite leer. this, I believe, is a reaction formation - he's joined with her since her moral stand on the Paris story (jury's out on her but she's better in most respects than the usual newsbunnies), and he resents her bitterly. He keeps alluding to her 'classy' upbringing, her intellect, her attractiveness, all the while resenting each of these attributes. This is typical.

We're actually getting to watch someone decompensate - since it's early AM for him, he's a bit out-of-sorts and is off-balance emotionally. He never was this unsteady at night. I suppose there is a significant difference clinically between "Morning Joe" and "Evening Joe".

All IMHO of course...

1. You really nailed it, I really like Mika, he opened his mouth and after
about 30 seconds, tv was off. He's far more manic in the a.m. than his evening show. This may be a "probationary" show for him, 90 days, let's see how the rating are, etc.

2. He obviously has a massive ego
He thinks he is funny with his always ”on” biting sarcasm.

I find it low-brow and tedious. And he surrounds himself with yes-people. Blech
