In about an hour Harriet Miers is required, having been subpoenaed, to present here self before the House Judiciary Committee at a hearing. She has indicated she will not. She could and should be arrested and compelled to testify. Maybe she will, maybe she won't.

What are the odds she will be arrested within the next 24 hours if she does not appear?

4. No chance. Period.

She should, however, be cited for contempt of Congress. I don't expect anything to come of that, either, because there is little chance that the Justice Dept or its subsidiaries will carry out their responsibilities to uphold the law.

However, Congress has the responsibility of following Constitutional procedures, including introducing contempt proceedings. It's their job. I expect Congress to do its fucking job. Is that too much to ask? (Don't answer that...)

the Dem's following through with their threats are slim and none, and slim already left town. I could be wrong (hopefully) but considering past history I am not counting on it.
