Huckabee takes personal shot at Michael Moore
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee “sharply criticized Michael Moore” and his new documentary SiCKO, suggesting that the filmmaker adds to the nation’s health care crisis by being overweight:

“Frankly, Michael Moore is an example of why the health care system costs so much in this country. He clearly is one of the reasons that we have a very expensive system. I know that from my own personal experience,” said Huckabee, who lost more than 110 pounds and became an avid runner after he was diagnosed with diabetes. <…>

No comment could be obtained from Moore, but Meghan O’Hara, producer of “Sicko,” questioned Huckabee’s motives in criticizing Moore.

“Looks like Mike Huckabee is auditioning for some insurance company dough, since he’s raised just about no money and sparked zero interest since jumping into the race,” O’Hara said in a response provided by Moore’s production office. “I wonder what the good governor would say to the French, who drink more, smoke more, eat more cheese and still live longer than us despite paying less for health care?”

2. Huckabee is an example of why pet cemetaries do a brisk business, having turned himself into a man
who molded his son into the guy who tortured a dog to death.

Yeah, Huckabee must be a hell of a man.

BOY SCOUTS KILL DOG!

ACTION NEEDED: DEMAND INVESTIGATION

(Miller County, Arkansas) Two boy scout counselors, 17 year old Clayton Frady and 18 year old David Huckabee, the son of Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, have admitted to catching a stray dog during their summer session at Camp Pioneer in Hatfield, AR, and hanging the dog by his neck, slitting his throat and stoning him to death.

Camp officials, who did not report the crime to law enforcement officials, have admitted that the act did occur and have fired the boys from their positions. However, no charges have been filed against the young men.

4. Republicans just LOVE to judge other people, don't they?
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 08:59 AM by PA Democrat
If they can paint others as morally inferior to themselves than they feel justified in refusing them any type of help.

Of course, it took diabetes to push Huckabee into losing weight, but he's still morally superior to Michael Moore.

10. A Fine Example Of "Compassionate Conservativism" You've Got There, Catwoman
Yep...they sure show compassion...especially those afflicted with a slow metabolism or other problem.

Yep, he can now yuk it up after his surgical tummy tuck that was surely paid for by an insurance company that was grateful for his votes in ensuring their monopoly on heath care in Arkansas was some of the most restrictive in the country. Yeah, let's look at the health care of Arkansans under Mr. Hucklenuts.

Now isn't he supposed to be a "righteous" man as well? Ya know...to help his fellow man...especially one who suffers from malady he "overcame". Shouldn't he be reaching out to Mr. Moore and embracing the message of a healthier Ameica.

Ooops...I forgot, he's a Repugnican. Bought and Paid for by Big Pharma.

12. Republican motto: When you have no good response to an issue, attack their physical appearance.
It's such an effective strategy.

And since we're attacking personal things, Huckabee is the stupidest name ever for a president. Stupider than Bush, even.

13. Huckabee in a word..reactionary
exercise is good, but running can damage your health in the long run. walking might be better and less likely to cause insulin reactions.

my grandfather was also an avid runner, unfortunately he has trouble just walking up and down stairs because of runner's knee. http://www.umc-cares.org/Health_Info/article.asp?Category=All&ArticleID=110

there is a reason doctors take the Hippocratic oath, don't give medical advice that leads to more problems! but we wouldn't have Republicans if everyone lived by that oath. even Huckabee needs someone to criticize.

15. This is totally expected. Huckabee has the weight-loss cred, so he's the point man
to talk about Moore's weight issues.

Ad hominem arguments work pretty well in the Maury-Jerry world.
