8. Poor Mr. Cannon wants to be sure of a conviction before they investigate.
These republicans are fucking ridiculous. They always seem to want written guarantees that there will be convictions even BEFORE they start the investigations. They don't seem to understand that the conviction comes as a RESULT of the investigation.

Oh, wait...they understand it perfectly...which is why they keep playing that same sorry game. It seems to work for them against the feckless democrats.

He is a REALLY GOOD guy! Very intelligent & well-spoken. He won Harold Ford's vacated House seat.
A major improvement IMHO.:)

24. There is no evidence that Harriet Miers did anything wrong,
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 09:54 AM by Atman
so it okay for her to flout the law and ignore a congressional subpoena. I'll try that one if I ever get called into court. I just won't go, and when they come for me, I'm sure they'll be okay with it if I just say "I didn't feel like coming in to court because there is no evidence I did anything wrong."

That will work, right?

22. I just don't understand this "need for candid advice" bullshit.
Since when does complying with the law prevent one from giving candid advice? I mean, unless you're blatantly lying or giving advice that is patently illegal, what is the fear here? Who says "I'm sorry, I cannot advise you because someday there might be a hearing?" That just doesn't make any sense.

28. You & Me Both
That makes absolutely no sense. One would be thought of highly enough to give advice to the POTUS, and one would NOT be honest and forthright because someone might ask about it later? Nonsense.

27. "Privilidge" Is Only Skin Deep
Now Feeney sure wouldn't put the same standard to some poor schmuck stuck on a bum drug rap or want to extend the same rights to "terrirsts".

KagroX has a great post about the options Democrats have with a contempt citation:
