What in the world is WRONG with our security people?
Just this AM I hear an International flight is diverted to JFK because a flight attendant THOUGHT one passanger didn't go through proper security, but after checking all the security tapes at LAX, it proved the attendant was WRONG!

Then one of our major airports is shut down because someone at TSA THOUGHT they saw someone enter the AP through an Exit Only door, but the TSA employee turned out to be WRONG!

John Edwards campaign Hdq. was evacuated because of a suspicious package.

All of this was just broadcast in the last 30 minutes on CNN! WHY is everyone so damn jumpy????

A dispute over a backyard wall in Whatcom County has reached all the way to the White House, with President Bush firing International Boundary Commissioner Dennis Schornack over his handling of the matter. But on Wednesday Schornack rejected his dismissal by the commander-in-chief.

2. Third suspicious package for Edwards
in the last few months.

Evacuating an office building for a couple of hours is worth it IMO, and not a great inconvenience. You never know when a goofy package might just be the real thing. Better to be safe than sorry. That's fairly standard procedure, as I understand it.

As for the flight diversion, that's a bigger issue and much bigger problem for all involved. Since when did FAs get all this authority? And how did she KNOW the person didn't pass through security?

I wonder if this is the direct result of Jerkoff's "gut feeling" yesterday?

3. That's my point. The FA didn't say he/she KNEW anything, but
THOUGHT he/she recognized one of the passangers as a person who had only gone through the flight crew only security and not the regular TSA line as all passangers must do. After they diverted the flight to JFK, interrogated that passanger for 5 hours and checked the security tapes from LAX, it turned out that the FA was WRONG!

In the other case I mentioned where they shut down the AP because a TSA employee THOUGHT they saw someone enter the AP through an Exit Only door ALSO was proven WRONG!

I agree with you on the Edwards HQ evacuation as a precaution, but in the two AP incidents it just sounds like a lot of people are chasing shadows and seeing problems that just aren't there! Don't you find that weird? Something has them spooked!!!
