Hillary to Attend YearlyKos Netroots Convention

Today Hillary Clinton's campaign announced she will attend the YearlyKos convention this August, the official annual gathering of the progressive netroots. Writing in a diary at DailyKos, Clinton Internet Director Peter Daou said he was "happy" to announce that Clinton planned to attend the convention. "I'm looking forward to being there as well - last year's was great and I'm sure this time around it'll be even better," he added. The 6-line post drew over 390 comments.

Clinton is the last major Democratic candidate to confirm her attendance at the convention in Chicago. Edwards, Obama and Richardson confirmed in May, and Clinton's delay led some bloggers to question whether she was "afraid" to address the netroots directly. (Last month, one Kossack diarist even posted a sarcastic poll asking whether Clinton was skipping YearlyKos because she was "terrified" of bloggers -- or because she was simply "too good" for bloggers.) Today YearlyKos organizers seemed delighted with Clinton's attendance, distributing a press release about the addition.

I'm very pleased to hear this, and think much more highly of Hillary as a result (But I'm still supporting Obama!)

She has gotten intense criticism in the blogosphere, but is still going to the convention to talk to her critics.

5. A blogger convention without BartCop is just a sham.

Long before the ex-republican Kos or the ex-republican Huffington started blogging, there was always-a-democrat BartCop, fighting the good fight. He has been on the net since 1996 and has always been the very best blogger at expressing liberal thinking and advancing successful liberal strategies.

Had the Democrats listened to Bart, we'd have won the last two presidential elections. If the Democrats would just START listening to Bart, we'd win every election from now on.

I'm suspicious of Kos because Kos hates Hilary, and, IMHO, any Democrat who works against any other legitimate Democrat is no real Democrat.

Just like any liberal bloggers' convention without BartCop is no real bloggers' convention.
