1. bullshit
lying sack of shit.
"down?" from what? nobody died in the last hour, and somebody died an hour ago?

http://icasualties.org/oif/

The fist 12 days of July are "only" 2.9/day - at the moment. Give us a day tomorrow like last Friday, with nine, or last Thursday, with seven, and watch THAT trend change. Nine tomorrow would bump it to 3.4. Seven the next day would make it 3.64.

This chart is American only, but the UK and other numbers in icasualties above don't change the trends:

Look at the numbers for July '05, July '06, and the June-July period of '04. Do those dips indicate "casualties were down?" (Ok, the lying shits probably tried to claim it then too). Look what happened each year after the July "dip." Note: I am not claiming that a July dip is a reliable phenomenon, just pointing out previous periods when the totals dropped for a long enough period to be discernable. It is probably coincidence that it was July three years running and it is - gee - JULY now.

There is a patttern of a dip in the feb-mar timeframe as well. And sure enough, we had one this year. It dropped to "only" DOUBLE the previous March! And the lying stupid sacks of shit in the media called it a drop in casualties - from December - the third highest month ever.

You cannot extrapolate short-term perturbations in the numbers into anything meaningful. At this minute, this month projects to be less than the last three (which were the highest 3-month total ever) but higher than the prior three. In fact, higher than all but nine of the 53 months since this nightmare started. It may actually end up being a "down" month. But for that slime to toss off a comment like that, with the clear intent of misleading and driving a fucking agenda to keep the senseless killing going indefinitely based on fucking NOTHING - that we had five days in a row with a total of five deaths reported so far, makes me apoplectic.

There are many, many things to get incensed over, and many are worse than this little bit of lying propaganda. But it is representative of that fucking dismissive "they are just numbers" attitude.

Tell these kid's parents "casualties are down," snow, you bastard.

2. Yea I heard him say that too, and I screamed BS at my TV!
O dodn't have the chart you have, but I know I keep hearing about the casualties every day, and they sure didn't sound like they were down to me!

I think this is just another case of "if you say something often enough, people will believe it" syndrome!

5. Not bullshit!
In order to bullshit, one must include at least an atom-sized element of truth in one's statement. Mr. Snow is not bullshitting. HE'S LYING.

Let's see how long this post lasts. You all be nice, while they ground our country into the dirt.

9. And we're at an average of 3.5 deaths a day
whatever the fuck that means. And we have been pretty much since Bushie's "Bring it on" and "Mission Accomplished" fiascos. It wasn't just the bombing of that mosque. That's a bullshit strawman.

12. yes, bullshit straw-man, same ole republican canard, but lemme figure these numbers, hm...
that's like, oh, 1277.5 @ 3.5/day x 10yrs = 12,775 (many, many more within an endless war as has been proposed by the bfee)...well that's not bad i suppose :sarcasm: though i do expect the numbers to crash out the roof & beyond, plus when you figure the 10's of thousands that would have died by now but for the advances in battlefield med tech; the number would be blinding at the very least eh,

still say time to end it :patriot:

11. When casualties are up, they're not a good measure
When they're down, they suddenly signify progress.

Last year we were regaled with "dropping casualty figures, three months in a row!" And then it went up again.
