It takes time...
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 02:04 AM by walldude
You know what, I have lots of time. I have plenty of time. I got to see Transformers this week. I'm seeing Harry Potter on IMAX 3D tomorrow. I'm off work for another week and I'll be hiking, swimming, and playing video games with my kids. I have all the time I need. My wife and I are playing cards with some friends tomorrow night. Should be fun. I'll even spend some time on DU, not so fun, but interesting. Time, time, time, I have all this time. Nobody is shooting at me. Nobody is bombing me. My government is not failing to give me the proper equipment, armor and proper amounts of food and water. I don't have to go out on patrol, I'm not sweltering in the desert, and I'm not repairing Hummers with duct tape, bubble gum and pieces of scrap metal from the trash. I have lots of time. I haven't been overextended, underpaid, underfunded, used, abused, fed expired food or had to shower in contaminated water. Sure, I have lots of time. But I'd bet, that if people were shooting at me, if people were trying to bomb me, if I had to repair a Hummer with duct tape, bubble gum and pieces of scrap metal from the trash, if I had to eat expired food and shower in contaminated water, if I had go out on patrol one more time to wonder if I'd be coming back whole, or if I'd be coming back at all, I'd be out of time. I'd be out of time and out of patience.

As long as George Bush is President we will remain in Iraq. There will be no time lines, no withdrawals, no getting away from protecting and securing the "interests" of the wealthy and powerful. Remember, when the American people voted last November to get our guys out of Iraq, the Presidents response to the will of the American people was to increase the troop levels. The American people voted to end the war and the President... escalated it. His arrogance knows no bounds, this is his war and he's going to win it, if he has to kill every soldier in America to do it. I have long since given up on thinking there was a "bottom" to how low these people can go. To them "executive privilege" means... untouchable.
The Democratic majority is too slim to be effective with such arrogance in the White House. Impeachment is our only option. Sure it probably won't work. Yes the odds are against us. Yes, we don't have the votes. Hell, it's damn near impossible to win. It would be like David and Goliath, it would be an underdog fighting for truth, justice, and freedom against incredible odds, facing a better financed, better armed, better resourced foe. It's something only a crazy person would try. What country in the world would even attempt something that nuts? There was a country that used to do crazy shit like that. America is what it was called if I remember correctly.
Look friends, there is enough crap over the 7 years to get a large majority of Americans fired up on Impeachment, you start back before 9/11 with Cheney's secret energy task force, work your way through 9/11, the destruction of a covert CIA operation, Iraq, Abu Grahib, Katrina, wiretapping, the list goes on and on... and on and on and on... The problem is mainstream America is not well informed. We need to start impeachment proceedings, lay it all out on the table, we might even get lucky and get the media behind us, once that happens and people start to see the big picture, Bush is sunk. Sure the odds are so far against us that it's really pretty sad, but isn't that what Americans used to do? Fight incredible odds for crazy ideals?

Just my 2 cents...

1. "The problem is mainstream America is not well informed." They would never stand for this if they
only knew.
