Escort service placed calls to Vitter during House votes

WASHINGTON (AP) - Phone records show a suspected DC madam was calling David Vitter back when he was a House member -- and during hours that Congress was in session.

The Louisiana Republican, who is now a senator, acknowledged earlier this week his number was on Deborah Jeane Palfrey's call list. The father of 4 has dropped out of sight since the revelation, missing out on Senate votes.

Palfrey says she would return calls to her company, to verify the caller's identity.

She called Vitter's office five times. 4 of those times, the House was in session and Vitter showed up for roll call votes.
