Mr. Ratzinger (the Pope) has managed to get Christians arguing
with one another on the local newspaper's discussion board. As one person recites their version of history, another person recites headlines about pedophiles and cover-ups, Inquisitions, and Crusades. Good thing these people aren't in a room with one another. It is no wonder to me why non-Christians wish the whole lot would get raptured away when they get through laughing at them.

1. Is arguing a sin?

4. Not necessarily, just the nasty feelings it incites in people, and they are
definitely there on the discussion board. Folks are having a lovely time pointing out the spects in others' eyes while ignoring the boards in their own.

I'm not sure what Mr. Ratzinger was trying to accomplish, but it certainly isn't unity of Christians.

2. I don't think Mr. is the proper term for the Pope
however, I have no problem with you calling him the "Rat".

3. Was his name legally changed to "Pope" or Benedict? I dunno,
because those titles don't mean much to me as they have no authority over me. If his name has been legally changed, then I'll call him that new name.

From what I see, he is inciting fear and bigotry in people.

5. Since he is a resident of a nation/state called the Vatican, I guess
he is legally Pope Benedict Whatever. But I see where you are coming from.

6. He certainly is doing his best to give Pat Robertson a run
for his money, isn't he? His predecessor would be alarmed with some of his recent comments about other Christian churches.

7. "It is no wonder to me why non-Christians wish the whole lot would get raptured"
Those people are not called non-Christians, they're called anti-Christians. Most non-Christians, like most Christians, have enough bloody sense to know that intrareligious disputes are not limited to Christians and seldom feel the need to bolster their own faltering egos by laughing at others for holding different beliefs.

8. Benedict XVI (Ratzinger) is part of a generation of Europeans who have a world view where supreme
power, supreme authority over heaven and earth, and who speak for God, is a reality in our world. But we know that power corrupts and supreme power corrupts supremely. BXVI is desperately fighting for this world view since without it where the Roman Catholic Church be? He can't see a world without such beliefs. When will this generation pass away - so that the world can truly seek equality.

11. Either that or he's an arsehole....
...take your pick...but I've heard that he was the key architect in the Vatican directed cover-ups of the widespread child-rape going on in their 'church'....

I am not a huge fan of his predecessor, especially in regards to the millions that died in Africa due to AIDS, but he was a far more reasonable person than this radical zealot...

I wonder what's next from this ex-nazi, reverting back to calling Jews 'Christ-killers'? Or how about The Spanish Inquisition Part II : The Revenge of Ratzinger? Can't be far behind.... :eyes:

9. Guess The Pope doesn't want Martin Luther and the Reformation
to have the last word on the matter of the supremacy of The Church.

12. It's not a "sin" to argue, but it sure is a shame
... to carry on that the only God is YOUR God and that "he" has ALL the rules. Not too many of them coincide with the Jesus I learned about, either.

Here's my poop on the Pope. Pope Razinger is just a man... A man caught up in his early years as a Hitler youth, which may not have been his fault, true. I'll even give him credit that he may be a religious man ever since, but I can't be impressed by his being a "Godly" anthing.

He's just a man... he may as well be out there hitting a golf club on the 18th hole with Bill Murray.

"Ahhh, Rat Shit!"

13. I heard his latest little foray into stupidity this morning on NPR...
he is now going to make some of the stooges that were part of the fascist regime in Spain during the 1930's revolution against franco...saints!!!!

That's right, all the lefties that wanted a voice be damned.

so mr hitler youth is now condemning the Leftists (groups of which Americans fought with) for capturing and killing some of Franco's apologizers. You know the ones, the ones that HITLER supported.

yeah, mr. ratsasszinger just can't give up the ghost can he.

Get goose stepping, it's the latest fad.
