"It's impossible" used to be a challange for Americans...
As long as George Bush is President we will remain in Iraq. There will be no time lines, no withdrawals, no getting away from protecting and securing the "interests" of the wealthy and powerful. Remember, when the American people voted last November to get our guys out of Iraq, the Presidents response to the will of the American people was to increase the troop levels. The American people voted to end the war and the President... escalated it. His arrogance knows no bounds, this is his war and he's going to win it, if he has to kill every soldier in America and every civilian in Iraq to do it. I have long since given up on thinking there was a "bottom" to how low these people can go. To them "executive privilege" means... untouchable.
The Democratic majority is too slim to be effective with such arrogance in the White House. Impeachment is our only option. Sure it probably won't work. Yes the odds are against us. Yes, we don't have the votes. Hell, it's damn near impossible to win. It would be like David and Goliath, it would be an underdog fighting for truth, justice, and freedom against incredible odds, facing a better financed, better armed, better resourced foe. It's something only a crazy person would try. What country in the world would even attempt something that nuts? There was a country that used to do crazy shit like that. America is what it was called if I remember correctly.
Look friends, there is enough crap over the 7 years to get a large majority of Americans fired up on Impeachment, you start back before 9/11 with Cheney's secret energy task force, work your way through 9/11, the destruction of a covert CIA operation, Iraq, Abu Grahib, Katrina, wiretapping, the list goes on and on... and on and on and on... The problem is mainstream America is not well informed. We need to start impeachment proceedings, lay it all out on the table, we might even get lucky and get the media behind us, once that happens and people start to see the big picture, Bush is sunk. Sure the odds are so far against us that it's really pretty sad, but isn't that what Americans used to do? Fight incredible odds for crazy ideals?

Since a longer post on this dropped like a stone, I am reposting a shorter version in hopes that I'm not the only person who thinks America needs to regain it's spine.

1. Text formatting would help too, rather than clocking the reader with a Wall Of Words.

5. :) It's not the # of grafs that necessarily creates the Wall Of Words look.

2. I've got to wonder...
are the people who say "we shouldn't do anything. It's impossible. It's too hard. We haven't got the votes. Let's focus on the positive" are they the same ones who whine about how nobody's out protesting in the streets? And then when somebody does protest, they whine about it?

6. Exactly.
I've been in DC for nearly every major protest since 2004 and I get back to DU to hear . . . bitching. About how "(insert group here) hijacks the message", "Pissing in the wind", "ineffective", "Mainstream America didn't care because it wasn't broadcast", "Unless there's blood and death in the streets rather than signs and walks, it don't mean shit".

Just because it isn't widespread doesn't mean we shouldn't make our voices heard.

4. Fear was once the only thing America feared
Now fear has consumed America.

This is not the once great America we all grew up in that feared nothing or no one and could take on any challenge including the otherwise impossible tasks. The republicans and bu$h have reduced this country to arrogant fear mongering cowards
