If there were to be an attack on this country ...
we all know that bush and his cronies have plans, so I would like the media at the next press conference what are the plans for the american people. I also would like to know where are our bunkers if there were a nuclear attack and where our gas masks.

14. True, but the American people will rally around our leader
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 03:57 PM by Poiuyt
That's the way it always has been. Even though Bush is guilty for not taking steps to protect our shores, indeed, making us less safe by creating more terrorists, the public will take an "us vs them" attitude. I would bet the ranch that everyone in Congress will back Bush in a time of crisis. They may not give him a blank check like after 9/11, and it may not last as long, but they will come to his defense.

2. it would be more realistic to ask your local officials
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 02:48 PM by pitohui
as a practical matter if you want to know where the shelters are in your area, you are going to have to ask around locally if you don't already know where you are supposed to evacuate in event of a disaster

some shelters are schools, public buildings, etc. -- after the superdome/katrina disaster you may want to ask yourself if you want to be stuck in a public shelter anyway in event of an attack or a disaster

6. i don't mean to be facetious, as i live in new orleans
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 03:18 PM by pitohui
what i mean is that fema was de-funded from practically the day * took office, and after 911 it was put w. homeland security and it became utterly useless

you are on your own, our gov't doesn't give a tiny damn what happens to us

have a bug out pack including bottled water, food, and your medicines, and keep at least 3/4 of a tank in your car, which is hopefully a car that gets great miles to the gallon

what else can you do?

in event of a nuclear or chemical attack, i think you have got to shelter in place, for those of us in areas where basements can't be built (they'd be underwater!) then i guess we're screwed

3. Just wait on the corner for the yellow school buses to whisk you off to safety.
But if you're not willing to try that proven method, here's a link that might direct you to the answers you're looking for - or not.

4. How many nukes do you figure there will be?
Because the plume drifts and anything that could devastate the entire United States would also ruin Canada and Central and South America. Maybe even China with a strong wind. Or Europe. Definitely Russia.

Which is why people don't like to play with those things.

So, getting real here, you're actually talking about a local devastation in a single area. Well, those Americans will die. I'm in New York, a dandy target with a concentrated population, so I'll just wave bye-bye now.

Everyone else lives.

Deal with it.

7. Hell they probably have a 2000 feet bunker stocked with supplies for ten years.
And they will make sure they have a large enough bathroom, after all with bush and cheney and their cowardice they will need it fully stocked.

Those are their "plans".

We are on our own.

10. That is why ...
I get really angry when he keeps coming out spouting this garbage about he is protecting us, and any warning or threats means nothing because we can't do anything about it anyway.

we should worry.
