The Guardian's award-winning photographer and filmmaker Sean Smith spent two months embedded with US troops in Baghdad and Anbar province. His harrowing documentary exposes the exhaustion and disillusionment of the soldiers, and the fatal mistakes this has led them to make.

Even in their Bradley armoured vehicles, the troops are not safe. Six soldiers and their translator are burned to death when one is blown up by an IED. The film also shows an apparently innocent taxi driver shot dead by nervous soldiers, and makes clear the loathing Iraqis have come to feel for the 'occupiers'.
