McCain: "Only contracting a fatal disease" will make him drop out of race
ABC News' Rick Klein and Bret Hovell report: Sen. John McCain said Friday that only "contracting a fatal disease" will cause him to drop out of the presidential race before the primaries begin, as he vowed to take his campaign directly to the voters of New Hampshire and other early-voting states as a means of compensating for his financial difficulties.

4. John McC. can never win. I hope he stays in to the bitter end
Put him up against any Democratic nominee, and watch him get his clock cleaned.

The guy is a loser who can't make up his mind if he wants to be a conservative or a liberal. This is very dangerous. People who flip and flop set bad policy.

If you want a progressive liberal president, vote for the real McCoy; vote Democrat

You can't run a campaign without big bucks. He'll have no choice but to drop out.

And it is quite clear that his Bootlickus Tyrannicus Express has run right into the very ditch where it belongs.

8. CNN played that comment yesterday. I'm sure he BELIEVES that!
HOWEVER, right after they played that comment, the CNN host described that McCain flew to his campaign speech site via commercial jet and had to carry his own bags. I believe REALITY will smack him in the head soon enough.

10. Oh John, life itself is a fatal disease.
Drop out now while you still have some dignity. Oh wait, never mind. Your dignity was lost sometime back in 2004 in the sweaty arm pit of George W. Bush. Carry on.

22. You'd think he'd want to put some distance between himself and
the Devil then, instead of embracing the old scratch and helping to carry out his evil work.

20. "It is distinctly possible to stay too long at the fair." That's from
Joan Didion, and she didn't mean it in a political sense, but it applies in the present case.

McCain is looking mighty pale these days. And the coffer is nigh empty.

There is a slim chance of a miraculous comeback, but I believe it's curtains for McCain.
