He says Americans "can leave anytime they want" and that Iraq is perfectly capable of defending itself now.

Now what the hell kind of excuse can Bush come up with? Now that Al Maliki says he can hold his own and we can go home?

Remember, Bush always said we will stay until they tell us otherwise. Well, THEY JUST TOLD US OTHERWISE.

2. He also asked for money and more weapons...
I would think leaving these guys a major stash of high tech weaponry would only escalate conflict and possibly used in genocide. Besides what if he lost...We would then just have ARTMED Al Queda sympathizingpeople with our best stuff.....Bush has no plans to leave and until congress actually does something to force him too...I do not believe they do either. I often think the Dems walk a fine line of anti-war sentiment, but never cross over to actually working to stop it. If you recall , we kind of gave Sadaam a bunch of support once too in his war with Iran......look how that turned out! This guy was stating he needed more police and more military might...Im not certain I trust him with it. I think Bush backed the wrong guy...in fact given Bush's record...thats a 90% certainty.

GO METS, GO CLINTON and GO TO HELL DUHHHHBYA!

4. They will keep Peace with an Iron Fist
When we withdraw form the Fiasco, not much will be different than Saddam's Iraq. Oh it'll be fun how the thuglicans spin it.

6.  OK,so the troops can go home NOW? What are we waiting for?
:eyes: Seems as though we have the invitation to leave coming straight from the Iraqi leader's mouth!! It is both unconceivable and unconscionable not to bring the troops home NOW! :banghead:

7. Did Al-Maliki just gig Bush?
OK, so Al-Maliki waits until after Bush lies about the progress being made in Iraq. Then Al-Maliki comes out and offers to let us leave. I wonder if he cleared that with Bush. The hissing sound you hear is the sound of the last puff of air leaving Bush's pool toy.

Bush doesn't want Al-Maliki really in charge of Iraq, IMO, at least not until there is a new U.S. president. If Al-Maliki takes charge, the Sunnis are going to get the same deal the Shia's had under Saddam Hussein -- if they are lucky. After the initial burst of full-bore civil war, there would be a final result for Bush's war: a new Iran/Iraq Shia-dominated bloc in the ME. In other words, failure.

Maybe that is why the Bushies have been dissing Al-Maliki. They don't want a final result of the war until Bush leaves office. It's not because they "want to leave a mess for Bush's successor" as the fatuous media would have have us consume it, of course. It's because the Bushies know the final result is going to be failure. Therefore, they don't want Al-Maliki taking over, stable, democratically elected, or not.

But Al-Maliki seems to have other ideas.
