those bat wing things, with or without rhinestones. Gawd, they were awful. Only nuns wore the "old fashioned, ugly" wire rimmed or rimless glasses. They were heavy and ugly for both sexes, no plastic lenses then.
Then we got away from Mom and Dad in the mid to late 60s and discovered wire rims for ourselves.

It was fabulous, inspired! Very moving stories of her courage campaigning in the then-changing South. It was a tribute to Lady Bird Johnson, and a tribute to Bill Moyers, who understood and could tell it; riveting. I think C-SPAN is going to re-broadcast the funeral tonight starting at 2:10 AM, I think. Her daughters and grandchildren were also great. This is what she was like.
