Sometimes I wish this board had negative recommends. |
|
You know, for those time when just not posting in what we think is a "bad" thread just isn't enough and don't want to reward the OP with kicks by telling them the post was awful.
Yeah, I'm bitchy today. :)

15. "Bad" threads don't always break the TOS |
|
IMHO alert is for those really over the top things that clearly break DU's terms of service. I'm really talking about threads that are just plain "bad" and you disagree with it so much that just letting it sink into oblivion isn't enough.

than attacking Bush these days.

A lot of them apparently have nothing better to do with their lives, like joining the military.

14. Heh, point taken. Between Naughty Nancy, Evil Edwards, and Hateful Hillary, and all the idiotic |
|
and whining names people come up with for our own Democratic field, we don't need any help eating our own.
It's pretty astounding. You'd think if they were so miserable with the Democrats, they'd move on to the "Haven't A Fucking Chance In Hell" party.
Of course, there's no "Shitty Marginal Party Underground" is there? And no one of that number wants to do the hard work to start one, either.
And this site is so user-friendly, and possessed of so many witty and bright members!
I guess it's more 'fun' to hang here and trash our candidates, crap in the punch, and play the naysayer, rather than go out and work for some fringe loser who won't win anyway.

An un-recommend button and anonymity will bring wave upon wave of them.

point well taken. I didn't think of that. We have enough problems with obvious flamebait posts as it is.

8. The Great Thing about this Board is that ALL have a voice with "Recommend" and not Troll Ratings.... |
|
I vote for keeping it as it is. If your post is "crap" no one recommends and you are ignored...if you are FLAME...you get LOCKED...and if it's just middling...you HAVE A CHANCE!

10. All you need is five half baked friends to put a half baked idea up there. |
|
Even if a thousand people think it's shit.
I think an "UNRECOMMEND" feature would keep that in perspective.

23. Often enough, you see a hundred threads on a bullshit, but hot-button topic |
|
and twenty of them make the Greatest Page, through the work of five eager cheerleaders, when maybe one on the subject would suffice. As for examples, go back through the Greatest archives, there are plenty there.

9. I've said that quite a few times myself...there ARE threads that need to |
|
be given the true measure of "regard" that they merit.
Problem is, once someone has five fringe pals to help them in their call for some absurd action, there it is, up on the front page, making all of us look like kooks.
