Quite frankly I come to DU because it's an interesting read.
DU has always got something interesting to read and ---- it's interactive.

1. Yes indeed.
It exercises the mind more than most sites.

You've certainly gotten a handle on the "interactive" part :).

3. The interactive is the addictive part of this place
Great minds, quality information most of the time and freedom to say what we think even if others disagree.

Sometimes I think I spend too much time here but the information is so much more useful than what you find on the tube or in print. People collecting information from a multitude of sources.

4. The information collecting makes it research worthy.
Therefore, it has a one stop shopping quality about it.

7. Addictive indeed...
I've actually broke the addiction 2 or 3 times, but I always relapse. I'm guessing I'll be here as long as I live or if they ever close shop.

8. Living with just the information and opinions outside of DU
will eventually bring you back.

10. Many times people have brought up news that I heard here days before
In conversation someone will mention something they saw in the news or on another web site and I will listen and realize that information was posted here days before the conversation.
Hard to beat that kind of information.

11. Very true - sometimes their 'news' has been on DU
two or three days before.

13. I was just telling my wife the other day that we might could drop our subscription
to our local paper,Tulsa world, because the only thing I get from it anymore is the funnies, all else I've already read, sometimes days before. I like the interactive part of du most, when I am in doubt all I have to do is wait a moment and someone will enlighten me as to what is right and what is bull shit. Its never failed me yet either.
