From the Guardian article I posted in LBN:

‘Bush is not going to leave office with Iran still in limbo.’

In a story entitled “Cheney pushes Bush to act on Iran,” The Guardian writes that Cheney may be winning the debate inside the White House over how to confront Iran:

The balance in the internal White House debate over Iran has shifted back in favour of military action before President George Bush leaves office in 18 months, the Guardian has learned.

The shift follows an internal review involving the White House, the Pentagon and the state department over the last month. Although the Bush administration is in deep trouble over Iraq, it remains focused on Iran. A well-placed source in Washington said: “Bush is not going to leave office with Iran still in limbo.”

8. And we can all thank our Congress for giving him a little more leeway
97-0 on Lieberman's amendment? F'ing unanimous? From what I read, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich were the only ones opposing the House version. Have they all gone f'ing insane?? Don't they see how they are falling for the same bs they did going into Iraq?

He we ever had the military go on strike? Ever wonder what it would look like if they did? This might be when we find out.

11. They'll do this one on the cheap...
Either bombing only -- possibly with "tactical" nukes -- or bombing plus special forces black ops targeting civilians and designed to scare the shit out of anyone planning resistance.

Or they'll just get the Israelis to do the dirty work for them. That annual "subsidy" the US pays them to be our best and only friends in the region has got to be worth something in return. I rely on Cheney to make that case to Israeli leaders, not that the bloody-minded bastards need much convincing.

15. This is not Political
It's Business. I'm sick of these assholes running personal business pursuits from elected office. And for the Business to be run like a Mafia Family. The underlings are Made-Men. What's good for Big Oil and Halliburton is good for the country. All they care about now is getting into Iran at all costs. Follow the money. Isn't there a doctrine or something that prohibits personal business from being run out of the White House? And RICO ought to apply here as well.
