Why attacking Iran might be a bad idea.
After reading this post in latest breaking news I decided to post here on why it might not be a sound decision in attacking Iran for whatever hollow or legitimate reasons this administration might come up with.
This is is a paragraph from an article titled "Iran's New Alliance With China Could Cost U.S. Leverage" in the Washington Post from 2004.
"The relationship has grown out of China's soaring energy needs -- crude oil imports surged nearly 40 percent in the first eight months of this year, according to state media -- and Iran's growing appetite for consumer goods for a population that has doubled since the 1979 revolution, Iranian officials and analysts say."
I searched on Google, and this is the most recent article I could find on this. If anybody has anything newer please feel free to add.
I foresee quite of big conflict developing, and just not with factions in the Middle East. If the United States and insomuch Israel decide to attack Iran, they are going to have to deal with one of the big kids on the block, which is going to turn into quite a big fucking mess.

1. I cannot conceive of any reason that attacking Iran would be a GOOD idea.

13. Do you want Russia, China...
the entire middle east beating at the door, a completely busted US economy, a possible threat of nuclear war?

Yes I would feel so much safer in blowing-up Iran, just so there wouldn't be any "terror within our borders".

Read the link and William Pitt's post and open your mind.

As my grandmother used to always say "Fools suffer gladly".

2. The US couldn't attack Bulgaria right now
Unless you're talking about nukin' 'em we don't have enough military strength to attack anyone. Bush has drained our military. We've got hardware (bombs, rockets, ships, and planes) galore, but that's just about all we've got left.

15. And that's exactly what they will use
The professed aim is to take out Iran's nuclear facilities, not to overthrow the government and occupy Iran. That's the professed aim. In regards to what would likely actually happen as a result, and how I suspect the neocons think they will be able to deal with it at that point, please read:

“If we want a war with a billion Muslims we can probably have one.” - Wes Clark

That's the title to a Kos Diary I wrote, it isn't an article by Clark, although he is quoted inside of it.

The rest of the post is rather interesting.
