Kyle acted like nothing had ever happened. He looked at the CNN guy like he was nuts for even asking about it. Like how dare you. I imagine we are going to be seeing a lot more of that.

10. He's been reported to have done this sort of thing before.
I despise him even more than McCain--he's very involved in the snarny behind-the-curtain dealings of the RRRepublican Senate.

11. Kyl sure has, recently, too. Something was voted down anonymously,

and Kyl was the culprit. In fact, I think it happened twice by him fairly recently.

Edit to add one instance:

http://thinkprogress.org/2007/06/26/justice-foia-comply/

Bush’s DoJ has opposed FOIA reform and open-government efforts for years. In the 109th Congress, the Department “squelched efforts to pass the OPEN Government Act.” Last month, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) blocked a bipartisan attempt to update FOIA because of the Justice Department’s concern that “it could force them to reveal sensitive information.”

According to Meredith Fuchs of the National Security Archives, the report “is essentially smoke and mirrors designed to discourage Congress from enacting a law that would mandate improvement in FOIA processing.”

http://thinkprogress.org/2007/06/15/kyl-blocks-domestic-surveillance-subpoenas/

Kyl blocks domestic surveillance subpoenas.

Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) yesterday blocked Judiciary Committee vote on whether to authorize subpoenas to obtain secret documents related to the NSA’s warrantless domestic surveillance program. Kyl’s action “will block the vote for a week,” after which the Committee will “decide whether to issue the subpoenas or use them as leverage in negotiations with the Bush administration over access to the documents.”

12. He operates below the radar. We hear all about McCain here in AZ, but very rarely
about anything Kyl does. He's a pretty face fronting for the dirtiest of Senate RRR politics--kind of like a Senate minority Gingrich or DeLay.

I sometimes think that McCain seves as a distraction for Kyl's nastiness.

6. CNN probably got a call
soon afterwards to tell them to shut up. This isn't something they want discussed and CNN will likely bend over and say sorry masters, that won't happen again. CNN is like an recovering addict, every once in a while they slip off the wagon and and actually report the news but they get with the program as soon as they are given the talk.

14. Desperate Lies For Desperate Times
These goons don't want to lose Diaper boy's vote. It's all about power...always has been. Losing Vitter would put the Senate one vote closer to breaking McConnell's fillibuster.

Instead of harping about the House, DU'ers should be calling for Vitter's resignation and keep hammering. Write letters to local papers, call local radio shows...crank up OUR Mighty Wurlitzer and drive this hypocritical slimeball out and get another Democratic Seat in the Senate that will do far more to achieve our aims than yet another round of phone calls to Pelosi's office.
