Desperate times
So, I read last night that 45% of Americans support beginning impeachment proceedings against Bush. Roughly 11% MORE people support beginning impeachment proceedings against Cheney. Now, by my reckoning, that's roughly 120 and 150 MILLION Americans, respectively, who want to IMMEDIATELY take action to defend our Constitution.

A hundred and fifty million people is a LOT of people. People who are suffering from a serious lack of true representation in our Legislature, much less the Executive branch.

So, what to do?

These times call for drastic measures. We'd better do SOMETHING, considering these maniacs are on the verge of attacking Iran--with, apparently, an imaginary army. Or, even worse, with the Air Force, using bombs and missiles to strike "soft" targets, alienating even our would-be allies in Iran.

The country in question has had a strong Democratic movement, one that Bush and his neo-con nitwits betrayed by strengthening the hard-liners with their rhetoric. There is no telling how many of these young freedom-loving partisans would be killed in such attacks. That should REALLY help out the cause of Democracy in Iran, don't you think?

From my perspective, 130 to 150 million Americans is a pretty sizeable number. If that many people think that something serious needs to be done to bring Bush and Cheney to heel, maybe Congress should pay attention.

Is it that some of us don't realize how desperate this situation has become? We sit here, arguing over whether Cindy Sheehan is just an "attention whore" and simply "grandstanding" to no good purpose?

Maybe it's time to call for a Citizen's Constitutional Congress. Not to change the Constitution, but to defend it. All Americans of Conscience and true patriotism need to stand up and defy those who would betray it.

We need MORE than protest marches. We need MORE than e-mail petitions. We need something else, something the Corporate Media cannot ignore. Something our alleged "representatives" cannot ignore.

I've already detailed why support impeachment.

So what can we do to make it happen? What MORE can we do? Well over 100,000,000 people have had quite enough, and time grows short.

Maybe it's time we did nothing. And I mean nothing. Imagine a day when 100,000,000 plus American citizens simply stand down, call in sick, and inflict the country with a "Blue" flu that will send shockwaves through the economy.

We're rapidly approaching the point of no return, watching our Congresscritters standing for the same insane approach to Iran we witnessed with Iraq.

It has to stop. Now.
