3. Kicking for impeachment! |
|
Can we get 1 more vote so more people will see this? (and so Ms. Pelosi does not think I am a stalker for the number of times I have called her office)

5. #5 and done! Thanks for the kick in the pants. |
|
I called Nancy as one of the organizers of San Francisco Impeach Now! (a group that is still largely in my imagination, lol, but what the hell!).
First impeachment work I've done in weeks. So, thank you, Maraya1969! :hi:

6. Question: when you guys call, what is the general tone of your |
|
messages? I tried to be supportive of Nancy but also clear about impeachment -- a balancing act. What are you doing?

7. politely say that I am a constituent and would like her to know that I think... |
|
They generally take notes thus: for against they continually keep a tally of the numbers for and against any given issue, so they dont need long arguments about why. I always keep it short. They do use those tallies though. They are important!

22. Folks, please don't lie about being a constituent. |
|
They probably WON'T ask if you live in the district (Pelosi is consided a national figure). If you offer a bogus zip code, you can expect that they'll want your whole address and phone number too. Then you say UMMM UHHH ERRRR....
HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY.
I have called Pelosi and Reid, and they didn't care if I was local or not.
Just explain what you want calmly and rationally, and get off the phone to open up the line for the next person.

10. And what happens after you leave the voicemail message? |
|
Are they all transcribed by staff? Are they simply deleted?

11. They are not transcribed. they will keep a tally of how many people called FOR and how many people |
|
called against. Then they work with those numbers: for ex: 80% of my constituents want cheney impeached= maybe I should move on this...

Just because they told you so does not mean it is true?

|
It must be terrible, trying to figure out how 08 could play out AND to listen to so many angry people.
And, let's please keep calling. Because if we don't, the 08 election won't mean very much.

23. I wasn't angry, just very firm. :) I also called my local Sen. Tester office and |
|
had a long talk with his aid there. I asked her to ask Jon to just mention the I word, since it starts in the house and all, but maybe he could publically say it needs to be looked at seriously etc.
She said they've put it on their hot topic list because they are getting lots and lots of calls. She also mentioned she went to a party this weekend the the only topic of discussion was the Moyers program. She said she thinks it's hit the "tipping point," so while I'm not holding my breath, at least it's at the fore front of peope's consciousness.
Well, gotta call my Dino Sen. and my Repo Rep. but my daughter is on the phone....doesn't she know she's holding up impeachment?
