Here's What McConnell's Holding Up...
KagroX does another great analysis of the constipation pit known as the Senate and how 10 obstructionist Repugnicans are creating a stonewall between this regime and reality and the American people:

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/7/16/7382/34602

Most notable are all the bills passed out by the House that are sitting in limbo and being held hostage by McConnell, Liebermann and Rove in an attempt to make the House look ineffective and prevent boooshie from having to veto bills that could further hurt his corrupt party's chances next year:

The College Cost Reduction Act - H.R. 2669

Homeland Security Appropriations - H.R. 2638
State-Foreign Operations Appropriations - H.R. 2764
Interior-Environment Appropriations - H.R. 2643
The Energy Price Gouging Act – H.R. 1252
The No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels (NOPEC) Act - H.R. 2264
FY 2008 Defense Authorization Bill - H.R. 1585
FY 2008 Homeland Security Authorization - H.R. 1684
Hate Crimes Prevention Act – H.R. 1592
D.C. Voting Rights Act – H.R. 1905
Rail and Mass Transit Security Act - H.R. 1401
Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2007 - H.R. 1255
Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2007 - H.R. 985
Reauthorizing Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund - H.R. 720
Employee Free Choice Act - H.R. 800
Requiring Medicare to Negotiate Lower Prescription Drug Prices - H.R. 4

booshie promises to veto 60% of all the work the Senate is doing...and it's high time to call this asshat's bluff. But it requires pressure on obstructionist Repugnicans, standing up strong with Democrats like Feingold and, yes, Reid, in breaking down the stonewall through raising the noise level on our front.

Repugnicans can't get away with talking one thing when cameras are on and voting the other when Rove cracks the whip. Democrats are far from perfect and there will come a time to challenge Democrats who aren't "Progressive" enough. Let's demand up or down Senate votes...thus forcing Repugnicans to make the hard choice of the Constitution and supporting legislation a majority of the voters in next year favors...or ride the boooosh trainwreck into political oblivion.

Cheers...

22. I'm sorry, i just don't understand...
We worked so hard to get a majority in the Senate and the House, and now we have a majority just like the Rethugs. We control the debate, the scheduling of hearing, the subpeonas, and the committees. When the Rethugs controlled it, they just "rubber stamped" all of Bush's stuff.

Why can't we get stuff out of Congress now that we control things? I know that the Rethugs will try to block it, but didn't we try to block it when they were a majority? Why could they get stuff out, and we can't? Is Reid getting the job done? Do we need a new majority leader? This "all nighter" stunt just communicates "we can't get it done" to America!

Sure Bush will veto it, but that shouldn't stop us from passing it! Make him take accountability for killing legislation. But why can't we get things passed? Someone listed a whole lot of legislation in the House, but it seems we can't get it out of there either, and no one is even hinting at Reconcilliation committees to draft up common House and Senate bills! That because we are nowhere near ready for that when we can't get the first one out!

I am sorry to say it. It makes my heart sick. But it sure is beginning to look like the Dems and the Repugs are in this together! It really looks like they are colluding to keep stuff bottled up in Congress and in committee just to kill it. They are both in bed with corporate interests and against the people and are putting up a sham job saying "we are being blocked. Let's go all night to debate it." If the Rethugs could pass all of Bush's programs, then the Dems should be able to pass all of ours. If they can't, we need new leaders! Vote them all out! We'll get Bush if he veotes those Dem bills through public information. The citizens will reject him and his "fundie" supporters. But if we can't get legislation out of Congress and onto Bush's desk, then we look incompetent! Then America says "you are no better" and votes Rethugs back in in 2008.

We need torise up and tell the Dems to "get 'er done"! No more of this stonewalling! We voted you in to get our policies passed. We did our part, and now we are going to hold you accountable to do your part! Stop working with Repugs to kill our agenda! Stop blocking "progressive" change!

3. Thank You...
Also if there are links to Kentucky blogs and groups organized against McConnell, please let me know.

It'd be sooooo sweet to see Pruneface go down to defeat next November.

5. Sad thing is, McConnell knows that most uninformed Americans
are just blanket-blaming CONGRESS for not getting anything done. I would LOVE to start hearing about the GOP obstructionism in the MSM, but it's not gonna happen.

10. Surest way to get a thread to sink on DU is to actually blame the RRRepublicans
for not getting anything done.

I've appealed to people to call the RRRs about the Webb/Hagel amendment. Guess what word was used to describe me for that one? (hints: starts with F and can be used in somewhat polite company).

14. Welcome To Frustration Junction
I've had my share of "projectionists" in recent weeks. It's understandable...we're all frustrated about what's happening and feel that things aren't happening fast enough.

Unfortunately some have bought the corporate media meme that it's the Democrats who are the fault and we end up snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hang in there...I've followed your posts here and we may be a small group here, but you're not alone.

18. Just threw together a quick LTTE on this - comments please
Currently, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is holding up a lot of major legislation in the Senate that has already been passed by the House of Representatives. McConnell is pretty smart, because he realizes that if Republicans actually had to vote against things like: expanding health care for children, reducing the cost of college, hate crimes prevention, increases in Homeland Security and mass transit security funding, penalties for oil and gas price gouging, and requiring Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, it would look really bad. Even the Republican-friendly mainstream media might take notice and it will no doubt Republican chances in 2008. It’s too bad that playing politics has become more important than the health and well being of our children and our seniors, as well as our national security. The blood of the next terror attack inside the United States will be on the hands of Senate Republicans.

20. Well Stated...
The Hartford Courier would be ideal for that LTTE...especially in light of the nasty shot they took at Joementum on Sunday.

The damn corporate media is still doing their part...today's Wolfie toyroom is fear about Iran, more Al Queda boogieman stories and how Democrats are fighting among themselves and getting nothing done.

Oh well...

Thank-you!! Please let me know if you get it printed or a response.

21. Interesting....thanks for the link and how McConnell's gang went after
Center for Investigative Reporting accusing them of Liberal bias. The thugs always get on the attack. But, it's good to know the report showing McConnell's money bags from the lobbyists to push threw their agenda was finally published.
