DU This Creationism/Evolution Poll:
http://chronicle.augusta.com/polls/

Scroll down about halfway to Thursday, July 12. Creationsim is winning with 225 votes out of 350 so this should be easy to take care of.

Thanks!

1. I find it ironic...
That creationism is winning in an on-line poll.

11. When you consider this is the Augusta paper, the most conservative in Ga.
And Ga. is so backasswards, this is not suprising.
And I am a Georgian.

13. I think an evolution/creationism debate is better suited...
to something like a Butter-Churning Bee. In the 19th Century.

Certainly not in the 21st, by people who own and operate computers.

18. Getting Out of Iraq Seems to be Winning Even There Though
Edited on Mon Jul-16-07 12:47 PM by AndyTiedye
Look at some of the other surveys on that page.

Do you agree with the House vote to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq by spring?
Yes (53%) = 225

No (42%) = 178

Undecided (6%) = 24

Does this mean that even the Fundie nutbars are sick of the war in Iraq?

5. I love those polls

Evolution doesn't need to be 'believed in'. It doesn't care one way or the other, it just happens.

9. Remember

That same percentage can't name how many judges sit on the SCOTUS. We aren't talking about a very enlightened populice now.

Shit, they can believe in what they want. I don't care. Believe in Jeebus, believe in a head of lettuce as your savior, believe in a 1975 AMC Pacer....just don't allow our nation to be turned into a theocracy.

12. I'm worried that poll results such as this only reinforce the beliefs of the uninformed.
Edited on Mon Jul-16-07 12:43 PM by MJDuncan1982
Plus this specific "poll" was used in the paper's forum to defend creationism. Ugh...so many things wrong what that...

Edit: Content.

16. Agree

But keep in mind, many people like to be uninformed as it is much easier to take the Creationist viewpoint since there is absolutely no scientific research needed. This book says God created the earth and viola', animals. God said let there be light and viola' sun light.

These people are a moving target though. They thought the earth was flat at one time. We proved them wrong. Then they said the earth was the center of the universe. We proved them wrong. We will prove them wrong again as long as science isn't outlawed.
