US Senate Computer Used For Louisiana David Vitter Talking Points

The documentation of the talking points is the metatag which is coded in Microsoft Word software.
Because of the metatags, these talking points came directly from the US Senate but it is uncertain who
drafted or copied the content. Nonetheless, they were likely written or copied and dissiminated by an
individual with access to Microsoft Word from a Senate computer.

The content of the talking points are evidence of an orchestrated device to create support for Senator
Vitter at a time when he has not made any public appearances since the breaking of the D.C. Madam
story.

The document is further evidence that a US government institution is being used for political purposes
instead of governmental purposes.

The word document did not have the name of the author, nor did it have the identity of the organization
such as the “U.S. Office of David Vitter” which would indicate that it was an official document or
press release from that office. Also, it did not have a heading or symbol that it was from any
political organization such as the “Friends of David Vitter” or the “National Republican Party”
which would be a political document.

1. Is there a list of these talking points?
Edited on Mon Jul-16-07 03:04 PM by Jim__
That would be good to know, so that when a repuke used one of them, it could easily be identified (and probably just as easily be refuted).

2. Yeah I can't think there can be too many good ones.. "Clinton got a BJ, nyah",
"I'd rather go whoring with Vitter than driving with Kennedy" etc.

All right, that's it... I got nothin'.

5. Here's the list from the memo in question:
Key Talking Points

Senator Vitter did the right thing by telling the truth, taking
responsibility for his actions with God and his family, and apologizing
to us. He deserves forgiveness.

It's unfortunate that political enemies and the news media have turned
this past mistake/sin - before he was even in the Senate - into a feeding
frenzy and a license to report false rumors. *bullshit-see below

David Vitter is doing good work in the U.S. Senate fighting against
illegal immigration, for access to cheaper prescription drugs and to
help Louisiana recover from the hurricanes. I'll continue to support
him so he can continue this good work in the U.S. Senate. We need him in the U.S. Senate to
continue this good work.>

Points for Possible Press Release or Letter to the Editor

Senator Vitter did the right thing by telling the truth, taking
responsibility for his actions with God and his family, and apologizing
to us. He deserves forgiveness.

These incidents occurred many years ago in David's past - prior to his
work as a U.S. Senator

David Vitter has accomplished a great deal while serving in the Senate
including:
Effectively leading the charge to kill a bad amnesty bill

Fighting for access to cheaper and more affordable prescription drugs

Securing vital highway and infrastructure project funding for the state

Fighting tireless for water resource and hurricane protection

It's unfortunate that political enemies and the news media have turned
this past mistake/sin - before he was even in the Senate - into a
feeding frenzy and a license to report false rumors.

And one other point: The Canal Street Story is Completely False
The Canal Street Madam is pushing a book and television deal -
effectively using David's situation to further her own financial gain.

All FOUR attorneys on the Madam case say Vitter wasn't involved -
including U.S. Attorney Jim Letten, the madam's own defense attorney and the attorneys for her mother and daughter.

*One problem with the "it happened before he was a Senator" spin-
haven't we already identified calls made when he WAS a Senator, and when
the Senate was in session?

6. It makes sense to devote some time to talking points since they
will probably have to be used again.
