Wendy Vitter, Don't Blame the Media, Blame Your Husband
wendy blames the media for following them, even to church.

she said in most families this would be a private moment....well, dear, that's because most families don't have a man who is on the United States Government payroll as a United States Senator who's claim to fame is 'family values'.

you married an asshole darling.

a constitutional amendment forbidding the marriages of over 20 million Americans. He thought it was proper to enter into a public discussion about the morality of over 20 million lives.

19. Wendy Vitter was betrayed
Her husband lied to her.

It's not about "good sex", it's about being LIED TO.

I do agree, it's over. But don't forget the underlying component of DECEPTION and DISHONESTY.

Take it from someone who has been there.

Remember what she said she would do if he was ever caught?
She hasn't, so she is a liar, do not trust anything else
that falls out of her airhead.
She also needs to blame the pervert she is married to, not
the media. The media did not visit a prostitute to do the
nasty in nasty diapers.

46. I think that's a myth.
I think it only keeps the voice from going down if it's done before puberty. And anyway, I think that doing a Bobbit, technically speaking, leaves the testicles in place. This really can't be determined without some sort of public medical examination.

49. oh it's hit her all right
maddy, i've heard these stories of vitter going to whores for many, many, many a year and i am no political insider, it's impossible for me to believe that she didn't know

i believe she has known all along what he is, but she makes her deal w. the devil that she'll "stand by her man" so she can be the rich senator's wife

it was never about honesty or love or betrayal or lies or family values

it was always a deal -- she provides a respectable married facade for the whoremonger and he provides for her status wise and financially

that's always been the deal w. those two, always

what i really don't get is why have all those children in such a marriage, i understand having one, but how many do you have to have to prove you're a "real" family?

i know a state legislator in a nearby state, same deal, he has married for respectability because as he explained to his male friend, "i have to have a wife and child to get elected in this state," ok fine...but now there is a second child...and how many more i wonder?

Now, ask yourself, "Why would my husband seek the services of a prostitute?"

Answer that question, Wendy, and you'll be on your way to finding peace...

41. Simple? Respectfully, I disagree
Imagine waking up one day and finding out the spouse you trusted for years was living a completely separate life from the one you thought.

She's the wife of a successful politician. Everything seems good. All your needs are being met.

Then, suddenly, your spouse is outed on a national platform as being a high-profile customer in the sex industry? A diaper-fetish nationwide laughingstock?

Talk about the shock of your life.

She's gonna need years to process this. Have a heart.

wendy vitter has known that her husband goes to whores for many many many a year

she is not any poor pitiful betrayed spouse, she is herself a whore who sold herself to the rich man for the status and wealth of being a congressman and then a senator's wife

she was never unknowing about this, never, she'd have to be blind and deaf and living on the mars for the past decade not to know

So, she just accepted the situation in return for a rich lifestyle?

That's not hard to believe, but can you back it up for a national audience, or at least some uninformed guy from Oregon?

Because I can see that this is how it's gonna be portrayed in the national media machine, i.e. "Poor Wendy, she had no idea".

What's the history of the Vitters from a Louisiana point of view?

51. Sure, I could understand if that was her attitude in the description of this article...
But her immediate "blame the media" defense lead me to believe she had no intention to examine her situation but rather follow the age-old Republican defense of blaming someone else.

She'd earn my respect and empathy if she addressed the public in a manner like you described and acknowledged that she and her husband had problems to be worked out, but she didn't do that and instead took the low road of blaming someone else.

She and her husband deserve each other...

she is not responsible for his adultery.

HE is responsible for himself. he is responsible for telling her he wants to get off by wearing a diaper.

her responsibility is to be GGG (good, giving, and game), or, if she cannot go there, to give him permission to fufill his needs in another way - be that a prostitute or whatever.

Rather than take the mature way out, she blames the media. Tough shit, Wendy, when your husband attacks groups of Americans who aren't Christian fundies, then you either put up or shut up...no blaming your troubles on the very institution that catapulted your narrow-minded piss-ant of a husband to neo-con stardom.

58. It appears both Vitters need to look at themselves in the mirror...
Both have presented themselves as hypocrites and whiners of the highest order. He obviously has problems and she could help him, but instead she chose the perfect-GOP excuse: blame someone else. This doesn't solve anything. Maybe she's in denial, but she needs to get a grip on this situation. She could have presented herself with an acknowledgment of their situation and an announcement that they will work together to overcome this perversion. Instead, he "non-apologizes" and she blames everyone BUT themselves. Not really an inspiration to a nation of mortals who may actually possess sympathy for this couple if a simple explanation or acknowledgment of the problem was presented.

I'm so sick and tired of GOPers who will not accept responsibility for their actions, or who attempt to deflect the actions of their spouses by placing blame elsewhere...

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I don't recall her going national with complaints about the media... I don't recall her whining about the media being the culprit, as if if it wasn't for the media, she and Bill wouldn't have a problem.

I believe she was silent on the matter and chose to work it out in private.
