Father ... put girls in trunk
By April Yee, Globe Correspondent | July 17, 2007

WRENTHAM -- After serving as a field artillery man in Iraq, John French learned to be on the lookout -- even when sitting on the concrete benches alongside Foxborough's Boyden Library. On Sunday, he noticed a man and two children in a silver Chevy Cobalt pulling up at a retirement home across the street from where he was sitting.

"He looked like an average gentleman," said French, 24 in a telephone interview yesterday. "He had a nice little car, the two girls. I didn't think anything of it when they got out. But you never know, you know? And when he put the two girls in the trunk, I knew something was wrong."

Michael F. Fekete, 48, pleaded not guilty in Wrentham District Court yesterday to two counts each of domestic assault and reckless endangerment for placing his daughters in the trunk as temperatures climbed to 93 degrees. ~snip~

1. You can cite up to 4 paragraphs, you know
That way you could have included this:

"Defense lawyer Samuel Hausman said in court that the technology contractor from Washington, D.C., had been humoring the demands of daughters Ingrid, 9, and Iona, 11, both fascinated by the trunk's glow-in-the-dark release tab."

or this:

"The girls told a patrolman that "they liked the glow in the dark trunk release tab inside" and "that their father had let them go in the trunk so they could play," the police report stated."

2. Wow! A DUer who actually clicks and reads links.
I knew people like that existed here, but I may not have encountered one for a while.

4. You mean he didn't do it just to sneak them into the drive-in?
That was the reason we always ended up in the trunk as kids.
