County Investigators Make Arrest In SC Murder Case
By KEIRA BENSON
(WICOMICO COUNTY -- WMDT) 7/16/2007

Wicomico County Law Enforcement Officials were involved in a South Carolina murder case over the weekend. That's after one of the suspects in the case fled to Maryland. They say Harriett McKinney was arrested at her parent's home in Pittsville, MD. They say she was involved with the murder of a South Carolina preacher.

Police say her boyfriend is the lead suspect in the case. They haven't confirmed his motive, but they say they have their suspicions.

Wicomico County State's Attorney Davis Ruark says, "I think he may have gotten upset because the minister was trying to intervene in a domestic matter and he shot him . . . That's also very tragic."

McKinney is charged with First Degree Murder. She was taken back to South Carolina Monday. She'll be held there without bond.
