Is it just me?
or is all this new build up for the possibility of Al Qaeda infiltrating the country just like they are bracing us for it actually happening?

8. It's a diversion from the disasters G.W. has brought upon us
The Dems are controlling Congress now. They don't have the votes in the Senate to prevent needing 60 votes to pass a bill, but, we are controlling what comes to the floor for debate, etc.

The war is humongously important to the people and they don't like it. What else can George do but do his "sky is falling" routine. The people have been dis-respected by this admin. and they are now hostile!!!

4. Bush is in deep cheese - time to whip out boogeyman
Bush co is going toe to toe with Congress over unitary executive and executive privilege. Basically he's fighting over whether he gets to be king or not. GW knows the public is sick of his shit so he has to figure out a way to scare the crap out of us to keep us all in line.

IMHO if Harriet gets arrested look for an al Queda cell to pop dirty bombs someplace in the US of A.

"Bush Anoints Himself as the Insurer of Constitutional Government in Emergency"

May 18, 2007 By Matthew Rothschild

With scarcely a mention in the mainstream media, President Bush has ordered up a plan for responding to a catastrophic attack.
In a new National Security Presidential Directive, Bush lays out his plans for dealing with a “catastrophic emergency.”

Under that plan, he entrusts himself with leading the entire federal government, not just the Executive Branch. And he gives himself the responsibility “for ensuring constitutional government.”

He laid this all out in a document entitled "National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51" and "Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20."

The White House released it on May 9.

Other than a discussion on Daily Kos led off by a posting by Leo Fender, and a pro-forma notice in a couple of mainstream newspapers, this document has gone unremarked upon.

The subject of the document is entitled “National Continuity Policy.”

It defines a “catastrophic emergency” as “any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government function.”

This could mean another 9/11, or another Katrina, or a major earthquake in California, I imagine, since it says it would include “localized acts of nature, accidents, and technological or attack-related emergencies.”<snip>

14.  It's not just you .
I wish we really knew what their intentions were meaning this admin .
We were not publicly warned before 9/11 , so why now , is it just to tip the fear factor to get bush ratings up when bush does not care about polls .

Condi and Cheney and a few others have said we are safer but now safe yet so if we are attacked they have a way out .

Is it possible that if we are attacked they can say there were warnings but nothing we could have done would have prevented it ?

I really wish I knew , if I'm going to die in some attack then that's it , but i'm not going to worry about it since there is nothing I can do to stop it or know where any attack may accure .
