Whatever happened to the "War Czar" (Douglas Lute)?? |
|
The whole time I watched Bush's press conference last week, he kept referring to "David" (General Petraeus), but at no time did he mention Douglas Lute, the "War Czar" that the Senate finally confirmed less than a month ago! Lute's job description is to, "oversee day-to-day operations of the wars," yet, his name is never mentioned by anyone. Could it be that he has a fundamentally different idea about ending this war than the very President who gave him this post? It's almost like, "Oops, we goofed. He's no longer relevant. Forget the man behind the curtain." I always found this whole "War Czar" thing as odd, but his disappearance from the scene even MORE odd. Thoughts?

I wonder if they bothered to quiz him on his opinion of a war with Iran?
