2. maybe Conyers is trying to convince the committee to bypass
criminal contempt and go straight for inherent contempt. He might have chosen not to discuss this widely before now because he didn't want Miers to get wind of it and appear at the last minute in a show of non-compliant compliance. Who knows??

5. It's not always wise to waste time on potentials
Sometimes its better to spend energy on other things while you wait for your opponent to make a move.

Conyers is an awesome chess player. Let him make his move in his own time. It will be good.

6. I Believe Miers has 5 Days to show why she didn't show
In a better and slower world she is given a few days to be located and to come back and explain why she wasn't there when she was supposed to be. I believe they give 5 days for that. Then, if she dosn't come back and say sorry, she was in the hospital or something like that, then they can go after her. That would be tomorrow afternoon if I am not mistaken.

7. A letter has already been sent to the Judiciary Committee
rejecting the subpoena and explaining her reasons why she refuses to comply. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=1358566&mesg_id=1358566
