We need debate in Congress like they have in Parliment |
|
Let's stop those blowhards from spewing lies as they're doing it. Let them be called on their crap immediately and ask them for proof in their grandstanding.
This 'my good friend from ..' crap drives me nuts. Let 'em loose!
That would be fun :bounce:

3. Have you ever seen the discussions? |
|
They're a hoot and they hold nothing back.
As far as being useless - are we getting much done with the stalemate of the right going on?

2. Pick any Parliament you want, it's one hell of allot better than the current... |

US political system. In Canada if you have a three or four party system, it is possible (as is in Canada)to have a minority Government... If the Gov't screws up, there can be a non confidence vote brought in the house. In my view this works very well...

What kind of bullshit is it that no one in Congress can scream, accuse, etc. when it's warranted? I don't get it. We have a dictatorship in the works in the White House, and Congress is all sitting around polite like they have hemorrhoids or are under the influence of heavy tranquilizers. WAKE UP, CONGRESS! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?

6. Oh, our Parliament is the same... |
|
Everyone is "The honourable member for..." or "My honourable friend", especially when one MP is about to knife another one in the back.
And for most House votes, people are told how to vote by their Party whip, so you can predict the result - unless the government majority is very small and the rebellion of a few MPs can make a difference.
As Gilbert and Sullivan put it in the 19th century:
"When in that House MPs divide, If they've a brain and cerebellum too; They have to leave that brain outside, And vote just as their leaders tell 'em to."
